VET SCIENCE CDE
Overview
The purpose of the Veterinary Science Career Development event is to promote college and career readiness by providing students with opportunities to develop and demonstrate technical knowledge in the field of veterinary science. Students will identify breeds seen in a mixed animal practice, complete common veterinary math calculations, and demonstrate knowledge in the following areas of both small and large animal care: anatomy and physiology; veterinary terminology; nutrition and feeding; health care and diseases; reproduction, genetics and selection; safety, handling, sanitation and facilities; and key technical skills.

Expectations at Convention for Vet Science CDE

CDE held inside, mainly seated

Students will be viewing slides, reading questions, scenarios & diagrams/pictures. There may be hands-on activities depending on the year and supplies available.
