State FFA Band
Application Due: March 10
All band activities will take place on the Minneapolis campus near Mariucci. Students are responsible for their own transportation and meals unless indicated.
Sunday April 19
Band students should be dropped off with their instruments and music stands (as appropriate) by advisors at the TCF Bank Stadium (directly across the street from Mariucci Arena).
2:00 – 5:00 - Band: Rehearsal at TCF Bank Stadium (may adjourn early)
5:00 – 5:30 – Optional - Dinner on own at own expense. There are several options within a quick walk of the stadium and arena.
5:30 – Opening Session. Live talent performances. Band participants leave from Mariucci with chapters.
Monday April 20
Students are responsible for arranging travel from the Saint Paul campus to Mariucci. A free shuttle is available that runs campus to campus.
1:45 pm – 2:45 pm – Band Rehearsal at TCF Bank Stadium
3:15 pm – 3:45 pm – Band moves instruments to Mariucci via loading dock.
3:45 pm – 4:00 pm – Band Sound Check (will begin as soon as Session 2 concludes)
4:30 pm – 5:15 pm – Dinner provided (sandwiches)
5:45 pm – 6:15 pm – Band/Chorus Concert
6:30 pm – Awards Program. Students travel home with chapters.
Tuesday April 21
10:00 – Band participants arrive at Mariucci for warm up
10:30 – 11:45– Lunch provided for Band participants (pizza) around concerts
11:30 am - Concert Mariucci Arena
12:00 pm – Final session. Students travel home with all musical equipment with their chapters.
To participate in band, students should submit an application online.
There is a registration fee (previously $25, 2020 cost TBA) for students participating in band or chorus to cover the cost of meals/rentals and programming. Chapters will pay this fee through the convention registration. If band participants have dietary restrictions to dairy or gluten, they should reach out to by March 15 to request a fee adjustment as MN FFA may not be able to accommodate those restrictions within the participation fee.
