PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT EVENT
Overview
Students participating in the Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Development Event (LDE) are evaluated on their ability to conduct an orderly and efficient meeting using parliamentary procedure.
Participants are judged on their knowledge of parliamentary law and their ability to present logical, realistic and convincing debate and motions.
Expectations at Convention for Parliamentary Procedure

Official Dress is required.
What SHOULD students bring? (Tools/equipment/materials)

A timer should be provided by each chapter for their demonstration

Gavel for president
What can students NOT BRING for themselves?

Any written materials
What will get a team disqualified?

Using notes or a cell phones or smart watches during the event.

Sharing answers with other participants.

Talking during the test or one minute prior to the presentation.

A teacher or coach being present during the exam.
What will be provided by the event?

Station markers

Scratch paper
Pre-Testing Information

The virtual exam will be provided via an online testing platform. A password to the exam will be provided to a proctor only.

Seeding for the state will be based on the averaged scores of the registered team of 6 members..

If you have an alternate who would be at the state event as a backup, their name can be submitted to the State CDE/LDE Coordinator by email prior to testing. If they substitute at state, the chapter's average score will be updated to include only the scores of those students competing for state scoring.
