The Minnesota Ag Communications CDE will model after the National FFA Rules (new in 2024).

Participants in the Agricultural Communications Career Development Event (CDE) work as a team of communication consultants. This team CDE challenges students to communicate effectively through various avenues.

Event Details

The topic for each year will change, but will be based on promoting a positive relationship story that could be published in FFA’s New Horizons magazine between Minnesota FFA and a company, organization, family, group, chapter, individual, etc. Examples could include a story about a company who donated a sum of money to Minnesota FFA, a local chapter that had to overcome a significant challenge, an FFA alum who went on to do great things, etc. The goal of this contest is to show how you and your teammates can leverage communication tools and skills to communicate about a topic that puts FFA in a positive light.

State Finals

The MN FFA Ag Communications CDE will be held during the Minnesota State FFA convention. Pre-registration for all teams is due March 1st. If we exceed the number that can be accommodated at the State Finals, we will have a virtual preliminary round mid to late March.

The Ag Communications CDE is really fun and a great way for students interested in Agricultural Communication & Marketing to get early exposure to professionals, undergraduates in our ACM major, and work in this area. The UMN ACM faculty are integral in this CDE and are available to answer any questions and share resources. - Offical Dress

- Headphones

- Laptop/Chrome Book for each participant.

- Pencil/Pen and Notebook

What not to Bring:

-Cell phones not allowed for content creation.
