The MN FFA Ag Communications CDE will be held on Thursday, March 16 at the University of Minnesota - St. Paul campus, starting at 9am. We will be making a few changes to the contest, in order to align with the national rules and format. The biggest change is that the teams will each have 4 members. See attached rules for more info.
This CDE has three parts - a media plan completed prior to the contest (and presented to the judges the day of the event), a series of practicum activities completed the day of the event, and individual editing/communications quizzes.
1. MEDIA PLAN
Teams of three will put together a 'Media Plan' around the following topic:
"Your chapters’ Ag Communication Committee has been approached by a State FFA Association to select and promote one of your FFA Members to various media outlets about the benefits of FFA Membership. Your committee has the option to decide what is included in the promotion of this member. This promotion might include one or more of the following; SAE Program, special project, event, or issue/challenge, or other attributes associated with the FFA Member. Please remember that the plan should also focus on promoting Agriculture Advocacy."
These will be due to Rebecca Swenson (email@example.com) by 9pm on Thursday, March 9th to allow time for evaluation by our judges prior to the event. Teams will be presenting an overview of their plan to the judges the day of the contest.
The day of the contest, each team member will participate in a practicum activity, which are listed below. Teams should have a web designer, video producer, journalistic writer, and an opinion writer. See activity details and programs available below.
